MLB MAIN SLATE (APRIL 14, 2026) – DON’T LET THE CHALK BURY YOU!

This slate has plenty of eye-popping chalk plays but when looking deeper, these spots are frail and far from stone-cold locks. Get underweight to NYY, ATL, HOU, LAD and BOS while finding value and strong leverage with CLE, MIN, ATH, STL, TOR and MIL.

Yamamoto grades out as the best arm on this slate according to Diamond Life Solver analytics but should not be overly rostered. Instead find good leverage with Gore, Misiorowski, Woo, King and Detmers. Don’t get fooled by Springs’ last stellar start – his salary does not support his projections. Gausman, Gray and Weathers also grade out poorly as slate-breaking plays.

Weather conditions look clean for the most part. We’re looking at around 40% chance of precipitation in Pittsburgh and Chicago, but these spots are not likely to rainout. St. Louis and Atlanta look like good weather spots with warm temperatures and wind slightly blowing out.

High run totals are expected in the following games (9 runs or over): CHC/PHI, WSH/PIT and TEX/ATH. Low run totals are expected (under 8 runs) in TB/CWS, TOR/MIL, SEA/SD and NYM/LAD.
